Kumu Benson studied music at Colorado Mesa University where he received his BA in Vocal Performance. During College he studied vocal music, he was a part of 3 different ensembles, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir and Percussion Ensemble. After college he was the co-founder of a band called The "Pineapple Crackers", he toured around the mainland United States for 7 years before returning back to Kauai. While in Hawaii he found a new passion in teaching our future leaders. He went on to get a second degree in Special Education through the University of Hawaii Teacher Ed. Post Graduate Program.
